It was 30 years ago this season,
That the O-Pee-Chee brand without reason,
Brought in with their Premier set, some gold.

For the first time in with hockey,
and without making it too shockey
A gimmick that is now quite old.

A parellel set it was called
doubling the chase for all
with the same cards redone in a slightly different way.

The pandoras box was opened wide
Collectors could no long hide
and many have cursed the start of these each and every day.

End Poem

Parallels came to hockey in the early 90’s and this was one of the first. The Gold version of the Premier set.

I’ve been chasing this through trades since then and now I can see the finish line.

with these 9 cards I am down to just 2 cards missing. (393 – Thibault and 479 – Cullen if you’re interested).
Some big names came in this bunch including Gretzky, Brodeur, Selanne and 2 Potvins. No wonder these took so long.

The one good thing they did with this set that I do appreciate it they didnt make a gold version of the checklists and instead replaced them with players who got missed in the base set.

1993-94 O-Pee-Chee Premier – 526/528 for 99.6%
